From Crisis to Calm De-escalation Training May 13th

The Town of Ithaca will be hosting a de-escalation training session open to participants who are interested in building practical skills for managing challenging situations. (flyer link below)

NYSFMIA Traveling Trainings

Fire Alarm & Detection Workshop

October 21 – 22, Moyers Corners Fire Department Station No. 1

A 12-hour program covering essential codes (NFPA 72), system operations (initiating devices, control panels), and a focus on NFPA 72 – Chapter 14 inspection and testing requirements.

These sessions are designed for fire code inspectors, technicians, and engineers who need a “back-to-basics” approach to system design, installation, and compliance.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to install and configure fire detection systems to maximize environmental safety and ensure operational readiness.

NYSFMIA Members $50, Non-members $100

Other workshop sessions being held May 13 – 14, Albany, NY; June 15 – 16, Farmingdale, NY; and September 2 – 3, Buffalo, NY.
