Code Enforcement Officer/Fire Inspector

12-16 hours per week

This is a Part-Time position with a 12-16 hour work week including occasional evening meetings of the Village Board, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. The CEO/FI must be capable of performing plan reviews, issuing building permits and performing construction inspections as well as commercial fire inspections. The CEO is required to enforce the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, Flood Plain and Stormwater Regulations as well as the Zoning Ordinance and to investigate complaints and sites for code compliance, document any violations, and attend Administrative/Court Hearings as needed. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) is necessary.

Candidates must possess current NYS Basic Code Enforcement Training Certificate indicating completion of the NYS Basic Code Enforcement Training Program within 18 months of hire date. Previous experience as a municipal Code Enforcement Officer is preferred.
